RON PEMBERTON - Founder and Chief Editor
Who am I? I often wonder that myself. So, I guess I'll start with the basics.
My name is Ron Pemberton. I am the Founder and Chief Editor of Teach The Boss.
The Editor part should surprise everyone - since I'm infamous for run-on sentences; not having a clue about grammar and punctuation; and depend on a spell-checker like a crack head does his pipe. I promise someone else will be chosen as Editor after Teach The Boss has grown some. So please bear with me until then.
So where do I get the idea that I know anything about management?
It all began 25 years ago with an undergraduate in Finance and Accounting and a Minor in Human Resources. I was with the Morrison's Corporation then, and we were the second largest in our industry. General Mills was first - simply because they make all the cereals. We not only had the most, but the "best-in-class" restaurant divisions and institutional services. I was a Operations Manager with two of the restaurant divisions. During my time with Morrison's, I ran several locations with great numbers; I became lead of the team that setup and opened locations; and eventually became a corporate management trainer.
I became very skilled and experienced at developing training programs and producing all the associated materials, such as; manuals, Powerpoint presentations, tests, and facilities. On going study of labor law, business psychology, marketing and demographics, leadership and productivity lead to a reputation for my knowing my stuff. I began working as the Savior of troubled locations.
After Rest. Ops. Mgt., I became a Recruiter for a stint. I hated the constant travel, but loved the experience. Boat loads interviewing and background check experience. This is when I began to build one hell of a network of friends and aquiantances that crossed over into different industries.
I took an interest at this time in Marketing and Advertising, and thus eventually returned to school.
After this, I worked toward marketing myself as the guy who could take your idea from "concept to completion" and having planned all along to start my own company, I began working on several side projects with others. Over the years I have sucessfully started t-shirt companies, alternative publications, bars chains, restaurants chains, and manufactured and marketed products.
